Glamour Women of the Year

This is one of my favorite magazine brand extensions in a sea of meaningless award shows and events that are done solely to satisfy advertisers. This marked the 20th year and it has become an iconic evening honoring the most amazing women in the world. In year’s past I have included many of our clients including Angela Bassett and Eve.

This year I felt so incredibly blessed to have worked alongside 2 of the prominent women being feted at this year’s ceremony the incomparable Ellen Sirleaf Johnson President of Liberia and the powerhouse that is Kamla Bersaar Prime Minister of Trinidad. President Ellen Sirleaf Johnson allowed me to design a pre election event for her prior to her winning her historic seat as the first female president of an African nation. Prime Minister Bessear and I since her win as the first female Prime Minister of Trinidad are working towards magnifying the atmosphere and unique offerings of the wonderful island of Trinidad Tobago. To see the both of them on stage two vibrant, smart women of color filled me beyond belief as they are 2 of the most pioneering leaders of our generation that have shattered glass ceilings to become global leaders.

They were among many great women who were honored for their resilience and leadership along with luminaries Cher, Donatella Versace, Queen Riana of Jordan, and Lisa Leslie. Distinguished Presenters such as Oprah, Janet Jackson, Kate Hudson, Chelsea Clinton, Diane sawyer and Kate Couric were all in attendance and delivered riveting speeches to each women being honored. The evening was followed by a dinner for 100 at the Museum of Modern Art where I got to catch up with Kyra Sedgwick one of my woodsman costars.
